Does anyone else know about the reunion? Roger’s coming from California. Keith are you in? See you in Maine.
Comment by Yvonne — April 25, 2007 @ 6:48 pm
Is there a 25th reunion planned for this year? I have not heard anything about it.
Comment by Lisa Marlowe Branagan — June 28, 2007 @ 10:31 pm
Hi Lisa! Yes! WE have a reunion planned in August. The mail I sent your 9 Hoyt St address was returned. I also sent mail to the entire class with names of classmates I’ve been unable to contact.
Please bookmark, www.SanfordHigh1982.com. This website will contain info about everything.
You can also order your meals for the reunion from the website!
I look forward to seeing you in August!

What a hoot! I stumble on what Dave has done for us (amazing) Classmates.com sucks.
Now I am really excited for the class reunion…
Especially when I call Dave late at night and low and behold he is a “next door neighbor”.
AND, calling that late he is still the most personable guy you’ll ever meet…no wonder why we voted for him!
For those that don’t remember, I was part of the musician geek heads. 1st trumpet in the band, chorus, etc. What I love to remember was in 1982 the marching band actually starting competing in competitions. We missed a couple of football games and the sporto’s hated us for that.
Yet, we brought home a couple of trophys larger than the football team ever dreamed of bringing back that year.
Was a great 4 years at that school.
Would love to read more postings from classmates of their favorite good times at SHS. Especially the summers.
One of mine was going to the beach as a senior with my mom’s car on a skip day. We went to Well’s Beach….Me, David Parent, his girl Tina, Dan Drisko, Barb Proventure and Tammy Crosby…we got drunk and me being the idiot, I went to get the car at the parking lot and drove it down on the beach…and beached it…bad…with the tide coming in.
Somehow, Dave managed to get someone to tow it out, drove us home and even got it vaccuumed out and I didn’t get in trouble…not sure how.
Dave is still one of my best friends in the world.
I have so many memories…
Indian’s Last Leap
The Rockies across from the Rec in Springvale
Nasson College
Snow Sliding at Nasson’s ski slope
And how about the Theater that we all saw Star Wars in in 1977 when we were really young?
Or how about OOB when it was OOB and we were taken there by older sisters, etc. Before the pier was wiped out.
Need alot more memories on this.
Maybe even a link on the site for memories? What about that Dave B?
Anyone please feel free to contact me at anytime.
Miss you all.
Mark

I’m writing to inform everybody that knows Al Nichols that he is in the hospital right now with critical injuries due to a fall on 7/5. For all his classmates, he is in MMC in SCU 3
He has been on a ventilator since the accident because of collapsed lungs. He has multiple broken ribs and compression fractures in his lower back. Thank God there was no head trauma.
Anyway, Al was planning on going to the reunion, but it doesn’t look like he’ll be making it this year. Please keep Al in your prayers:)
Thank you very much,
Sheila Patch
Al’s girlfriend.

My thoughts go out to Alan. I remember him fondly. Stay strong Sheila, for Alan as I remember him was a Bull…stubborn and strong headed. He’ll beat this.

Thanks Mark,
Al is doing better now. His last chest tube is coming out today and he’s on his way to recovery. You’re right about the stubborn part. I’m sure that its’s gotten worse with age:)
He has 2 kids that he is fighting for right now….He’ll beat this.
Thanks so much for your concern,
Sheila

Any update on ALan?
Comment by Mark Welch — July 16, 2007 @ 10:46 pm
Well Al is still on the vent…so to come off of it. Hopefully today. He was fitted for
a back brace yesterday and if all goes well, he can put it on and take the tubes out of his mouth. He’s pretty much been breathing on his own for the past 4 days, they just need to make
sure he’ll still be able to. He’s more alert now, but can’t talk just yet. It’s going to be a long road…..
Thanks for your concern and I’ll keep this updated the best that I can:)

That’s great news for Al…please post more when you can.
Please post what room he’s in for cards, flowers, etc.

So, Who’s going to be there?! Does it look like a good turn out?
We hope Alan is still making good progress, our thoughts are with you.
See you there, Lisa

I just read about Alan and wish I had known sooner. He and I grew up as neighbors, in fact, he taught me how to tie my shoes when I was 5! Tell him my thoughts and prayers are with him. I wish I could be at the reunion and see everyone. I will be thinking of you all. Please post pics so I can see everyone! Thanks, Karen

The 25th, I must say … I haven’t been to a class reunion since the first one. It was so great to see some wonderful classmates there. At first I didn’t know if I wanted to go. I am a quiet one, even in school–but I said to myself, it’s once in a lifetime. So I went and I was amazed to see classmates from all over this country and to hear what they have been up to for the last 25 years. The stories are amazeing, hearing about family and kids. It was a night I will remember for a long time. I want to thank David Bernier for his work. This event is not easy, so many classmates from all over the country. Dave had to find and track down everyone that he could, the letters he had to send out, the hall to rent, the food, the music, the name tags, the speach he had for the classmates we had lost. He did all this from his home in Florida, so, my hats off to you David and Terry and his mom and brother. Thank you for a night to remember. And for those who passed the night up, let me say, it was a night of adults who you went to school with and had the most respect for all of us there . . . no matter which direction our life went.

Out of a class of 218, only 42 could attend????? I understand that there were circumstances for some who did not attend but others just choose not to attend. It’s funny how 25 years can go by and some people move on and others appreciate the friendships that were established in our high school years.
Ronnie, you said it perfectly. It was a very nice evening and Dave did a superb job with every detail.
Dave, thanks for all your hard work–it was definitely appreciated!
Classmates who attended, thank you for being there, it was great to see and talk with you all! And those who did not attend perhaps we’ll see you at the next reunion?
Comment by Denise Berard Burchill — August 25, 2007 @ 10:48 am
Wow! What a night!
Ronnie is right, Dave really did a wonderful job! Everything was so nice. All of the hard work Dave did is really appreciated. I haven’t been to a reunion since the 5th but I’m so glad I didn’t miss this one.
It was so nice to see so many friends and to see everyone was doing so well. We really missed everyone who wasn’t able to make it.
I ran into Philip Stirk (aka Mr. Stirk, SHS math teacher) at the train station on my way out of town! It was so fun. He was so happy that we’re taking the time to get together for a reunion.
Please keep in touch and if your ever in Texas please come and visit. I plan to visit Maine more often in the coming years.
Comment by Lisa Heath Fisher — August 25, 2007 @ 2:22 pm
Wish I could have been there but had to be back in Tampa for my son to start school. It’s great to hear that those who went to the reunion had a great time.
I really like this website Dave! Thanks for making the effort to keep it updated. If your ever in Tampa look me up.

Glad to see that everyone that attend the reunion had a good time. Wish I could have been there but I was in Florida on vacation at the time. I am sure Dave did a great job. Hope to be able to attend the next one.

I had a great time. Dave did a great job right from the website to the shortcake (which I never ate because I got busy talking!) I haven’t seen most that were there for 25 years and you all looked great! Especially you Lisa. I didn’t think it would be possible for you to look any better than you did in high school, but you did. You took my breath away. Keep up the good work.
There were some people that I had hoped that would come that didn’t even though they lived very close. Was I the only one that came down from the North? I didn’t meet anyone that lived North of Portland.
Dave, thanks for putting this together. I hope you made some money and if you didn’t, please email me, and I’ll settle up with my part. No one should have to eat any money for something like this as you did it for our benefit.
It was great seeing you all and I look forward to the next time.
My email is lachiasdad@aol.com.

Thanks again Dave!

The reunion was a lot more fun than I’d expected. It was great to see Roger and Sally, Keith, Ronny, Rita, Val & John. I’m happy to see that the people I thought so highly of in High School are still awesome people. Lisa and I stayed an extra day in the Port just because we were having such a great time. Al and I had a great time. I only wish that Carol and Brina could’ve been there.
Great job, Dave. I hope we all have a chance to do this again some day.

Anyone know where he is?

Just want to say a quick “hi” to the class of ‘82 - sounds as if a lot of us are in Florida now (are we that old?!?), maybe the next reunion should be here! We have a Sanford, too!

I can’t find it so it could be mine. Send me an e-mail & I’ll contact the individual who found it. Thanks.

Future Reunion Ideas:
1. Next one for our 30th (2012) not wait until the 40th (2022)
2. How about having it in Sanford? Town Club? KC Hall?
3. No Dancing (No…not just because I can’t dance) - Isn’t it all about visiting/reminiscing w/ classmates?
4. Cash Bar / Hors D’Oeuvres - No sit-down meal (See #3 above)
5. June/July - We could first go to a Sanford Mainers game @ Goodall Park (www.sanfordmainers.com)
Now…I’m not volunteering to coordinate all of this…but…I’m willing to be a member of a reunion planning group.
Comment by Jeff Adams — August 5, 2009 @ 2:41 pm
Hi all, great website! Love looking through it! I lost my class ring too, so if anyone knows or has seen it in the last 25 or so years! Please let me know! Missed all the reunions except the first one. Wished I could have been at the last one! Loved the pictures! To our class president… good work to you and your family on New Dam Road, Sanford!!!
